Russell Burns

Russell is a Ph.D. student studying Astro Engineering (NOT astrophysics / astronomy / astrology / aerospace / cosmology… big difference). He grew up around Raleigh, North Carolina, which provided ample acres of woods for him to frolic about in as a youngin. As he grew older his hikes gradually took him westward—and now that he’s reached the literal edge of the country, he figured the Peaks folks could help give him a better idea of where to go next. Outside of hiking, falling off his longboard, and studying (so fun!), you can find Russ either running, playing bass, or tinkering with electronics.
