Cucamonga Peak w/ Jan Amend

Join us for a 12 mile, 4,200 ft elevation gain hike! This will be pretty difficult! But oh so fun! It will have spectacular views of the LA area and mountains around us. (Peak may be subject to change if it is too hot to hike it)

PROFESSOR: Jan Amend

DEPARTMENT: Earth and Biological Sciences

Dr. Amend runs a lab that carries out research in microbial geochemistry with particular interests in the deep subsurface biosphere, energetics of microbial metabolisms in extreme environments, thermodynamic properties of biomolecules at elevated temperatures, and astrobiology. He’s done field research underwater, in caves, and in Antarctica!
