Join us for a lovely Saturday in Ojai! We’ll start our morning by meeting up with beloved Peaks veteran Rev. Burklo at the trailhead, then hiking 4 miles through his home trails in the Los Padres National Forest. There will be lots of rolling hills and flowing water! After hiking, we’ll pop down to his house to enjoy a picnic with his DONKEYS before heading back to campus.

Reverend Burklo is a progressive Christian reverend, former Associate Dean of the USC Office of Religious Life, and one of the most gentle and kind people you can meet. He has been involved in Peaks and Professors from the beginning and truly enjoys being involved in the USC community, even beyond the classes he teaches in Social Work. In the Office of Religious Life, he dedicates his time to building community among students and implementing humanitarian programs like the Jubilee co-op café. He is also an ordained United Church of Christ pastor and is the author of six published books on progressive Christianity.
