PROFESSOR: Calum Rickard
DEPARTMENT: Mathematics
RATE MY PROFESSOR: "a chill dude whos fun to talk to outside of class”
Calum Rickard is one of the only professors who can make Differential Equations a class you WANT to attend. He is very down-to-earth and makes sure students actually grasp the concepts before moving on. Aside from teaching, his research interests lie in mathematics education and partial differential equation applications for fluid dynamics. He also completed his PhD at USC!
PEAK: Strawberry Peak via Redbox Canyon
DIFFICULTY: 4/5
SCENERY: lots of lovely views, plenty of Pine trees, cool big rocks, and lots of sun!!
FUN FACT: The first time Alex did this hike she got lost and hikes 4 extra miles just to realize it was not the right way… we are not doing that again.
TRIP LEAD: Alex
Alex has now on TWO separate occasions ate 5 servings of tortellini in one sitting… She may do it again before this trip.
