PROFESSOR: Jim Burklo

DEPARTMENT: Office of Religious Life

Professor Burklo is a progressive Christian and one of the most genuine and friendly people you can meet. (Seriously he emails using at least three exclamations per sentence, what a treat). In the Office of Religious Life he dedicates his time to building community among students and implementing humanitarian programs like the Jubilee co-op café (free vegan food at URC every wed 12-1:30 PM!). He is also an ordained United Church of Christ pastor and is the author of six published books on progressive christianity. Check out his personal blog, Musings!

PEAK: Gridley Trail

DIFFICULTY: 3/5

SCENERY: Beautiful green mountains, wild flowers and blue skies in Ojai!

FUN FACT: The entire trail is 12 miles! But the fun part is we will not be hiking all of that :)
