Red Rock Canyon w/ Kiel Shaub {Experiential Learning}

Do you like rocks? Do you like the color red? Then join us on this trip to Red Rock Canyon in Topanga State Park with Academic Curator Kiel Shaub. We’ll be hiking a total of 6 miles (keep in mind there’s a steep uphill in the middle of the hike) with views of sandstone outcroppings of various colors.

PROFESSOR: Kiel Shaub

DEPARTMENT: Dornsife Experiential Learning

Kiel Shaub is a passionate educator, curriculum designer, and published scholar with research and teaching experience at the university level. Kiel is currently the Academic Curator for EXL Lab @ USC, a new experience-based program initiative with the USC Dornsife Office of Experiential and Applied Learning. As Academic Curator, Kiel develops, designs, and teaches dynamic experiential and maker-focused programs and events with USC faculty and the Lab’s non-academic partners. Previously, Kiel taught as a lecturer in UCLA’s English department. His literary research, focusing on Romanticism, aesthetics, and the history of criticism, has appeared or is forthcoming in William Blake’s Gothic Imagination, The Journal of Aesthetic Education, Romanticism, Romantic Circles - Pedagogies, and Female Voices, 1770-1830.
