[AAIH x PEAKS] Los Liones w/ Black health professionals!

Get hyped for a 3 mile hike in the Santa Monica mountains with Black health professionals and students from a wide range of specialties. In this special crossover hike between Peaks and Professors and African Americans in Health, we’ll be making connections with Doctors, PAs, and medical students while taking in views of the Santa Monica shoreline. Don’t miss out on this chance to get out into nature and meet tons of amazing mentors at the same time.

Michael Bryant, MD

Position: Division Head, Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Specialty: Pediatrics

Fun fact: Dr. Bryant spent his early career as a pediatrician serving the migrant farm population in Ventura County and focused on improving access for the historically underserved patients and those economically disadvantaged.

Latanya Agurs, MD

Position: Program Director, Child Neurology Residency; Assistant Professor of Neurology, Keck School of Medicine of USC

Speciality: Pediatric Epileptology

Fun fact: Dr. Agurs specializes in the treatment of children with epilepsy, including surgical treatment options.

Natalie C Houser, DMSc, PA-C

Position: Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine

Specialty: Family Medicine

Fun fact: In 2018 Dr. Houser wrote and published her motivational memoir, The Compton Diagnosis, to assist and encourage minorities to persevere through adversity, pursue higher education, and give back to their communities.

Bianca Edison, MD, MS, FAAP

Position: Attending Physician, Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedics, Keck School of Medicine of USC

Speciality: Sports Medicine

Fun fact: Dr. Edison is a team doctor for various sports teams throughout Los Angeles!

Marland Browning, PT, DPT, OCS

Position: Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Physical Therapy

Speciality: Physical Therapy

Fun fact: Dr. Browning has a special interest in treatment of patients with low back and knee pain.

Lillie Hudson, MSPA, MPH, PA-C

Position: Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine (Clinician Educator)

Specialty: Family Medicine

SCENERY: Enjoy a panoramic ocean view at the top and wildflowers on this trail!
