Temescal Canyon w/ Scott Macdonald {Physics}

  • 15601 Sunset Boulevard Pacific Palisades, CA, 90272 United States (map)

Join Professor Scott Macdonald and his wife for a hike around Temescal Canyon! The trail is a 3 mile moderately-trafficked shaded loop in the Palisades with 875 ft of elevation gain and super rewarding ocean views. We’ll take a short snack break up at Skull Rock, and discuss how string theory can change how we see the physical reality around us!

PACKING LIST:

  • H2O

  • Sturdy shoes

  • SIGNED WAIVERS

  • Snacks!!

Professor Macdonald grew up with a passion for physics and mathematics. Knowing that string theory is a natural setting for the deep and insightful interplay between the two, he came to USC to pursue research (which you should definitely ask him about). He loves sharing his passion for physics with students and hopes to engage students in this beautiful field!
