Mt. Baldy w/ Vicky Petryshyn {Environmental Studies}

Join geology expert Vicky Petryshyn on an 11 mile, 4000 ft elevation hike up one of southern California’s most iconic peaks, Mt. Baldy. We’ll be making a loop that takes us to the top of the ski lifts, onwards to the summit via the Devil’s Backbone, then returns down the Baldy Bowl. This is sure to be a tough trip, but it’ll reward you with it’s stunning views.

Dr. Petryshyn is a USC alumna and geobiologist who specializes in reconstructing past climate and its impact on life forms, both tiny and large. She is involved with research at Mono Lake, South Africa, Catalina, and Michigan. Aside from rocks, she loves her dog, coffee, running, and NASA!
