PROFESSOR: Mary Traester

DEPARTMENT: Writing

RATE MY PROFESSOR: "Professor Traester is such a gem!”, “one of the most kind and supportive people I have ever met,” “you could just tell that she wants you to succeed in life.”

Dr. Traester holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, both from USC. After receiving her Ph.D., she worked on the pilot program of FemTechNet—a network of scholars, students, and artists interested in technology, science, and feminism. Dr. Traester now teaches writing at USC, and researches reading interventions and literacy in the digital age.

FUN FACT: The Verdugo Mountains are named after Jose Maria Verdugo, a corporal in the army of New Spain, who received the land in 1784.
