Join Peaks and Professors for a moderate hike in beautiful Griffith Park! Prepare for views of Los Angeles, Griffith Observatory, and the Hollywood Sign as we trek through one of LA’s most iconic hiking spots. Not only will we enjoy the company and wisdom of Dr. Uyeshiro Simon herself, but we’ll also get the privilege of being joined by her two daughters. This is a great hike for those of you looking for some sick city views while also getting to enjoy the beautiful nature that LA has to offer.

PROFESSOR: Ashley Uyeshiro Simon

DEPARTMENT: Occupational Therapy

Dr. Uyeshiro Simon is an Associate Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She is the founder and a professor for the course OT-100 THRIVE, a first-of-its-kind course to promote well-being and mental health among undergraduate students at USC. Dr. Uyeshiro Simon is a triple Trojan (Bachelor, Masters, AND Doctorate), and the former faculty in residence at Birnkrant. She is passionate about connecting with students and helping them promote a healthy lifestyle.

FUN FACT: Griffith Observatory was featured in many movies including Rebel Without a Cause starring James Dean in 1955.
