Join us for this 10-mile hike with 1300 ft. of elevation gain through the San Gabriel Forest and Sheep Mountain Wilderness to the “Bridge to Nowhere”! We’ll cross the San Gabriel River a few times so be prepared to get wet! The highlight of the hike is the mysterious bridge built over the east fork in 1936. In the 1930's a road lead there, but was swept away by floods in 1938, and it’s been isolated ever since!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 6-8 stream crossings, and due to the rain, the water may come up to your thighs! Be prepared to get wet! I will be bringing two pairs of shoes: one dry pair for hiking and one for river crossings. Maybe bring a towel? But don’t worry, if we decide the river crossing are dangerous we will not cross :)

PACKING LIST:

  • H2O (1-2 Liters)

  • Lunch & Snacks (this is LONG and we don’t want any hangry hikers!)

  • Sun Protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)

  • WAIVERS

  • Optional gear for river crossings: two pairs of socks and shoes, trekking poles, etc.
