Viterbi Students! Come join Peaks and Viterbi Well for this incredible collaboration. Join us Saturday morning for a quick, easy, but totally worth it 2.5 miles in Millard Canyon Falls. We have not one, but two, extremely cool Viterbi professors joining us. Take the morning to destress, enjoy nature and have a great conversation about the importance of wellness in engineering!

Professor McCurry’s research focuses on protecting public health by improving the long-term safety of engineered water sources. He applies the tools of organic and analytical chemistry to water quality challenges, particularly related to chemical and ultraviolet disinfection of wastewater and drinking water. Visit his website to learn more!

PROFESSOR: Cristina Zavaleta

Dr. Cristina Zavaleta develops new nano-based molecular imaging strategies. One goal of her work is precision medicine, driven by the understanding that disease manifests differently in each person. Her work provides the tools to understand a cancer’s molecular expression on individual cells that can result in delivering more effective targeted therapies and other tailored treatments.

PEAK: Millard Canyon Falls

DIFFICULTY: 1/5

SCENERY: Lots of forest and trees leading to a pretty waterfall

FUN FACT: The waterfall should be full and strong after the rain. If you’re feeling a little adventurous there’s some rocks to climb!
