Join us for a trip to the Inspiration and Mt Lowe with avid hiker and new USC Professor Kris Pardo! We will explore the scenic Mt Lowe Trail to Mt Lowe Peak & Inspiration Point. This 5.4 mile loop trail will be a fantastic way to start your weekend!

NOTE: Professor Pardo will bring his dog Sienna, a very cute Australian Shepherd:

Meet Kris Pardo, our cosmic explorer! With a PhD in Astrophysical Sciences from Princeton University, Kris now roams the halls of USC, researching gravitational waves and dark matter. When he's not busy unraveling the mysteries of the universe, you can catch him on a hiking trail, admiring the natural wonders of our own planet. Come join Kris and for an exciting trek through the great outdoors (but still on earth)!


PEAK: Inspiration Point & Mt Lowe via Mt Lowe Trail

DIFFICULTY: 3/5

SCENERY: Breathtaking views throughout the hike - mountains, LA city-scape, the ocean, and outline of Catalina!

FUN FACT: Mt Lowe was once home to a popular tourist attraction, the Mount Lowe Railway, which was a scenic mountain railway that ran from Altadena up to the summit of Mt Lowe!
