Join us for a fantastic hike to Sandstone Peak with Professor Tamara Black! We will explore the stunning rock formations and beautiful views at this moderately challenging peak near Malibu. What better way to start your weekend than with this 5.7 mile loop trail??

DEPARTMENT: ENGLISH

RATE MY PROFESSOR: “She understands my essays better than myself.”

Meet Professor Black! She is passionate about a variety of disciplines, including writing, economics, technology and social change, and identity and diversity. After earning her PhD and MA from that school across town (U**A), she became a Trojan and has stayed here ever since! She teaches a wide variety of rhetoric and composition courses at USC, including Contemporary Economics, Identity & Diversity, Technology & Social Change, Advanced Writing for Economics, Advanced Writing for the Arts & Humanities, and Advanced Writing for the Social Sciences. In 2018, Dr. Black even created and piloted a new course: Advanced Writing for Economics!


PEAK: SANDSTONE PEAK

DIFFICULTY: 3/5

SCENERY: Stunning sandstone formations, streams, wildlife, and breathtaking viewpoints. Definitely a hike for big Rock enjoyers.

FUN FACT: Sandstone Peak is called Sandstone Peak because the peak is abundant in sandstone, which is a stone made primarily of sand!
