Elysian Park West Loop w/ Robert Hernandez, Lily Ross, and Cynthia Juarez {Social Work}

Do you want fun and exciting Saturday plans (the answer is yes)? Then join us on March 30th as we hike the Elysian Park West Loop Trail! This is an easy 2.5-mile nature walk in Elysian Park, which is a pocket of nature in the middle of the city! We will be joined by not one, but three professors from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, which means 3x the knowledge! One of our professors is also planning on bringing her dog, Maggie, on the hike with us so don't miss out on this trip!

PROFESSORS: Robert Hernandez, Cynthia Juarez, and Lily Ross

DEPARTMENT: Dworak-Peck School of Social Work

We will have three professors from the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work will join us on our hike! Professor Robert Hernandez focuses on researching vulnerable youth populations in trauma-exposed communities. Professor Cynthia Juarez de-stigmatizes mental health in BIPOC communities using evidence-based practices. Professor Lily Ross studied how social support impacts youth motivation, she has worked in schools and community-based programs. Maggie is Professor Ross’ furry friend who will be joining us on our hike in Elysian Park!

SCENERY: This hike has tons of trees and beautiful views of the LA city.

FUN FACT: Elysian Park was the location for the pistol shooting part of the modern pentathlon in the 1932 Summer Olympics!
