Trona Pinnacles & Fossil Falls Desert Camping w/ Larry Harris {Finance}

TIME TO EXPLORE SOME DESERT ODDITIES…

From tufa spires to volcanic rock, it’s time to explore all the unexpected but interesting things that the desert has to offer on this 2 night camping trip! We’ll be camping under the Milky Way in Trona Pinnacles and Fossil Falls, while stopping by Red Rock Canyon (no, not the one in Nevada, but the one in California - trust it’s just as beautiful), Vasquez Rocks, Burro Schmidt Tunnel, Johannesburg (no not the one in South Africa)/Randsburg, and more on the way. Joining us will be Peaks legend Dr. Larry Harris and his 2 Peaks legend pups Bootstrap and Musket!!!

PACKING LIST:

  • WATER WATER WATER

  • WAIVERS

  • WARM CLOTHES (jackets, beanies, neck warmer, sweatpants, extra socks)

  • Change of clothes

  • Mess kit or tupperware + utensils

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat

  • … and anything else needed for a 2 night trip

  • Extras: camera, flashlight

WE WILL PROVIDE THESE UNLESS YOU HAVE ONE:

  • Tents

  • Sleeping Bags and Pads

  • Food (and other cooking needs)

  • Extra water



PROFESSOR: LARRY HARRIS

DEPARTMENT: MARSHALL (Finance/Business)

Professor Harris holds the Fred V. Keenan Chair in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business, and has extensive experience in the field of Finance. Dr. Harris was the Head Economist at the Securities and Exchange Commission from 2002-04 and currently serves as lead independent director of Interactive Brokers (IBKR), director of the Selected Funds, and research coordinator of the Q-Group. Professor Harris is also very experienced when it comes to the outdoors and is one of Peaks’ most loyal professors.
