Join Professor Matthew Manos for a sunny Sunday on the beach! With an easy 2 mile out-and-back hike along the Malibu coast, this trip will be one you won’t want to miss. And once we get to the beach… we’re gonna have a beach picnic so be sure to bring a lunch or snacks.. and maybe some to share too :) We’ll take in the scenery, hang out by the water, and have some good convos!

PACKING LIST:

  • Sun protection - sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, really anything you have!

  • H2O

  • WAIVERS

  • Hiking shoes / sneakers

  • Beach towel & swimsuit if thats your prerogative!

  • Snacks for a beach picnic :)



Matthew Manos is the founder of verynice, a design strategy practice that gives half of its work away for free to nonprofit organizations. verynice’s clientele includes Apple, Google, UNICEF, NASA and the American Heart Association. Manos also served as inaugural chair of the Los Angeles Creative Advisory Board established by former Mayor Eric Garcetti. At the Academy, Matthew serves as Associate Dean; leads a robust portfolio of industry-facing initiatives that challenge students to develop projects in response to complex problems faced by individuals, communities, organizations, and society at-large.

FUN FACT: Point Dume has been featured in numerous movies and TV shows, including Planet of the Apes (1968) and Iron Man (2008), thanks to its dramatic cliffs and ocean views.
