[SUSA x PEAKS] Hollywood Sign via Canyon Trail Drive w/ David Zarazua {Spanish}

¿Quisieras mejorar su español? ¿Buscando para oportunidades de salir a los senderos? ¿Has querido caminar por el letrero de Hollywood? Acompaña Peaks y SUSA (Spanish Undergraduate Student Association) para una caminata de colaboración especial con el profesor David Zaraza para practicar sus habilidades conversacionales y “pensar afuera!” Vamos al letrero de Hollywood por el camino Canyon Drive. Es una caminata intermedio que dura 6 millas y pasa por las colinas de Hollywood y al final uno de los lugares mas famosos de Los Angeles!

Nota: No hay una requisito de idioma - todos son bienvenidos sin importar el nivel de su español. Pero debería estar preparado para una caminata completamente en español!

Would you like to better your Spanish? Are you looking for opportunities to get out on the trails? Have you wanted to walk to the Hollywood Sign? Join Peaks and SUSA (Spanish Undergraduate Student Association) for a special collaboration hike with Spanish professor David Zarazua to practice your conversation skills and, ”think outside!” We are going to the Hollywood Sign via the Canyon Drive Trail. It is an intermediate hike that lasts 6 miles passes through the Hollywood Hills and finishes at one of the most famous places in Los Angeles!

Note: There is no language requirement - everyone is welcome regardless of Spanish level. But you should be prepared for a hike completely in Spanish!

David Zarazúa is an Associate Professor (Teaching) of Spanish at the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures. He earned his B.A. in English at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico; his M.A. in Spanish at New Mexico State University; and his Ph.D. in Spanish at USC. David joined USC as fulltime faculty in 2003. Prior to joining USC, he conducted research on discourse analysis at New Mexico State University and he also worked in software development as a Spanish analyst. His main area of interest is the teaching of medical Spanish in academic and healthcare settings. David teaches basic, intermediate, and advanced Spanish courses at LAIC and medical Spanish courses at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is the advisor of the USC student organizations Global Medical Brigades and the Community Health Involvement Project (CHIP) and is an active member of the Southern California Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
