Kick off the last week of the semester with us on this ~4.0 mile hike through Portuguese Bend Reserve in Rancho Palos Verde! Come enjoy beautiful ocean views while learning about Japanese history and more with Professor Benjamin Uchiyama.

Benjamin Uchiyama is a Professor of Japanese History with incredible knowledge about ancient, medieval and modern Japan alike. Join us to learn about Japanese history, the current state of Japan, or one of the many exciting projects he’s involved with!

SCENERY: Beautiful ocean views, rollings hills, wildflowers, and views of Catalina Island on a clear day!

FUN FACT: The name “Portuguese Bend” comes from the Azorean whalers who occupied the area in the later 19th century.
