What better place to discuss the recent rise of ChatGPT and a future Artificial Intelligence takeover than in a beautiful nature setting with a Machine Learning and Data Analytics professor. Join us for a 4.5 mile trip to the San Gabriel mountains in the Angeles National Forest with ITP professor Reza Jafarkhani! We’ll cross running streams, see mountain ranges, and even have the chance to see a flowing waterfall after all this rain.

WAIVERS
PROFESSOR: REZA JAFARKHANI
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
RATE MY PROFESSOR: 5/5 “Reza is GREAT. Fair (pretty lenient) grading and manageable workload. He is a very good lecturer and simply being in the class is enjoyable.”
Professor Jafarkhani is a hit in the ITP department (proven by his perfect Rate my Professor rating), teaching classes from Intro to Data Analytics to Applications of Machine Learning. He got his masters and PhD from USC (Go Trojans!) with his research focusing on earthquake engineering and civil infrastructure (very relevant in California). He previously worked in the Oil and Gas industry doing data analytics, but came back to USC to teach. Ask him about whether or not Artificial Intelligence is going to be smarter than humans one day….
PEAK: SWITZER FALLS
DIFFICULTY: 2.5/5
SCENERY: See the San Gabriel mountains and the natural beauty of the Angeles National Forest.
FUN FACT: Switzer Falls is 50 feet tall and depending on rain, it may or may not be flowing.
