Join us for a lovely Saturday in Ojai! We’ll head north to Sisar Canyon, where we’ll meet the one-of-a-kind Reverend Jim Burklo. A breathtaking 5-mile out-and-back hike promises amazing views, flowing rivers, and hopefully some wildlife. Afterwards, we can explore the town of Ojai and, if we’re lucky, visit Reverend Burklo’s donkeys and swimming pool!

A Peaks and Professors legend, Reverend Jim Burklo, is the retired head of religious life at USC and one of the kindest people you will ever meet. He now lives in Ojai, California, with his two donkeys! He is an ordained Church of Christ pastor and has six published books on progressive Christianity. During and beyond his time at USC, he has found a passion for building community and exchanging ideas.
