White Water Canyon Loop w/ Jim Burklo

  • 9160 whitewater canyon road whitewater, ca 92282 (map)

Spectacular vistas of mountains, desert, and dramatic river canyon. The semi-arduous climb to the top of the trail does bring up some risk/reward questions. There are points alongside the creek where you can almost swim and definitely splash around in, as well as rocks to scramble up! Hopefully we will see some wild flowers in bloom this time of year.

PEAK: White Water Canyon Loop

SCENERY: wild flowers, oasis, wild life, washed out, river, scramble, rocks

FUN FACT: puppers/doggos/floofs are allowed on trail (on leash...but still)

DEPARTMENT: Religious Life (link)

Jim Burklo teaches a course in Public Policy at USC’s graduate School of Social Work, and a course in the Arts of Service at the USC Keck School of Medicine. For eight years, he served as the ecumenical Protestant minister for the United Campus Christian Ministry at Stanford University, where he supervised student projects, retreats, and internships related to spirituality and social justice... // He knows so much about the outdoors and has many cool stories. He is deeply committed to being a good human being. He helped build a super cool housing complex for people who are homeless in Palo Alto and now is getting more involved in the political scene in California.
